Aramugam, A.
India, 1935
A. Aramugam is a student who attends the Bindu Art School in Chennai, India – an institution that, since 2005, has given people with leprosy the opportunity to express themselves through their paintings, providing them lessons where technique, colour theory and notions of perspective are taught. In addition, it shows the students work through promotional events, allowing them to obtain financial help. A. Aramugam contracted Leprosy at the age of thirty. At that time, he used to work in the fields. He has attended the Bindu Art School and, ever since, he learned to paint in spite of the limitations related to his disease. He never paints humans, only nature and buildings.
