Adami, Valerio

Adami studied it the Atelier of Felice Carena, the Academy of Brera in Milan and the Atelier of Achille Funi. During the 1970s, he became one of the foremost representatives of New Figuration. In 1970, he moved to Paris, where the Museum of Modern Art dedicated an exhibition to him, In 1985, the Centre Georges Pompidou organised a retrospective exhibition of his works. Adami executed mural paintings for various public buildings. He is primarily known for the thin layers of paint with acidulous colours and shapes surrounded by a black outline, similar to the well-defined contours of comic books or stained glass windows. In his work, he addresses topics such as literature, travel and the relationships between poetry, music and painting.
