Lacoste, Alain

France, 1935 - 2022

Born in Laval in 1935, Alain Lacoste was for some time a History teacher. During the 1970s he began drawing the human figure which led him to develop his own visual language. Part of his work consists of reusing materials such as tree trunks or magazine and newspaper clippings which he reappropriates as a painting support, dissociating them from their original nature.
