Liot, Éric

France, 1964

Éric Liot seeks to recover and collect images and objects through painting, sculpture, assemblage and collage, while presenting a formal and plastic language that comes close to the Narrative Figuration movement by using comics, cinema and publicity’s symbols. The use of images of iconic figures of the contemporary political and cultural universe, as metaphors with irony, is one of the most important features of his work. Liot reuses and transforms objects mainly in wood, giving them a new purpose, meaning and shape.
