Deal, Jacques
France, 1952
Jacques Deal’s work is most well-known for the reuse of images from magazines and newspapers, which he cuts, overlaps and integrates in two-dimensional compositions, some of them showing a great plastic complexity. Many of his works seem to recall the iconography universe from some important artists such as Bosch or Dali for three reasons: his detailed compositions, his bizarre and surreal figures and objects and for having different elements in the same composition.
