Bachtiar, Laila

Laila Bachtiar was born in Vienna. In 1990 she started visiting the Gugging House of Artists once a week and in 2003 became a daily attendant of the Atelier Gugging. Her graphite and colored pencil drawings depict animals, architectural monuments and sometimes humans. Other works incorporate numbers and are almost abstract. Bachtiar’s tracing is dense and distinctive and allows her to masterfully build three-dimensional shapes. Art of Laila Bachtiar is part of the Lower Austrian Regional Collection, the Hannah Rieger Collection and the Diamond Collection.
