Ribeiro, José

José Ribeiro was born in Abrantes in 1954. He graduated in Painting and History of Art of the 20th century of the National Society of Fine Arts of Lisbon. Member of the SNBA of Lisbon, ANAP-National Association of Plastic Artists and CNAP-National Club of Plastic Arts. In 1973 he attended the Decorative Arts Atelier in Zaragoza, Spain. He worked as an illustrator and graphic designer from 1976 to 1997. From 1997 onwards, he moved to Évora, where he currently resides, dedicating himself exclusively to painting. He has regularly participated in painting exhibitions since 1969, having received several awards and honorable mentions. The artist is represented in several public and private collections in Portugal, Spain, Japan, USA, Canada and Germany.
